Thanksgiving

Saturday, November 29, 2008

Davy and I hosted Thanksgiving in our home for the first time since I could not travel with my due date being just over a week away. We had Tim and Ashley, Davy's brother and sister join us which was so much fun. Everyone pitched in to help make our Thanksgiving dinner a success. I was little worried since none of us had ever cooked a turkey or sides from scratch. We did have a box of stove top and stouffers mac n' cheese just in case my new recipes did not come out well. Miraculously everything came out great and it was fun to learn how to cook it all.

Thanks to Davy's mom we had a beautiful kitchen table and furniture to fill our dinning room. It was so fun to use our china which my mom had recently given us.

Tim was in charge of cooking the turkey. He was getting ready to inject the turkey with the seasoning before it cooked for hours.

Tim brought Graham a present.

Here is my almost 39 week pregnancy picture.

Tim and Davy went to the driving range near our house the day before Thanksgiving.

He has a name!

Friday, November 14, 2008

Well after nine months and only three and a half more weeks before our little boy arrives he officially has a name. We are so excited to announce that his name will be Graham David Stephenson. I (Kelly) fell in love with the name Graham early on in our pregnancy but did not think that Davy liked the name as much as I did. We discussed many other names but they would only stick for a few days.

Davy and I were walking through Hobby Lobby yesterday and he surprised me by saying that he had a name that he would like to name our son. I was thrilled he had a name but a little nervous to know what it was. He took me to the wooden letter aisle and began pulling the letters that spelled Graham. I was shocked but so ecstatic that he also loved the name.

Here are a few pictures of our updated nursery that is now almost complete. All we need now is Graham!

After we had finished painting the letters for Graham's name, Davy decided he wanted to cut out a train with the extra plywood. I was amazed at how he sketched out a train from scratch (did not copy it) and then used his jigsaw tool to cut out the train. I stood in amazement at his carpentry abilities.

Davy also built these shelves. He is so talented!

Stone Mountain

Monday, October 13, 2008

Last weekend we took a last minute trip to Atlanta for a little get away before I am grounded from travel. We enjoyed visiting and staying with Davy’s brother, Jason. We were also able to visit with Ashley for dinner one night. It was a short visit but packed with fun events that included hiking Stone Mountain, golf (Davy played with his brother and friends), and shopping (for me). Here are a few pictures from our trip.

Birthday Weekend

Saturday, September 13, 2008

Thank you for all the birthday wishes, cards and also gifts. I had a wonderful birthday that extended into the weekend. Davy and I went to dinner at my new favorite place, The Olive Garden, due to my recent pasta cravings. He also surprised me with this adorable little cake that had a train going over a mountain since we decorated the nursery in trains.

Of course he put trick candles on the cake =)

It was really good cake. You could even eat the rocks which were jelly beans.

I also dragged Davy shopping for my birthday which he was very patient and even faked that he was enjoying himself. Thanks to several gift cards for my birthday to Babies R' US I was able to get our travel system. It is a jogging stroller and car seat combination. So in between the football games I had Davy put the stroller together. (of course not during the UT game)

Grace Church

Last Sunday morning was the first worship service for Grace Presbyterian in our new church building. Here are few pictures of the inside being built out and also Davy building the stage for the church…

"Labor" Day Events

Sunday, September 7, 2008

We had a productive Labor Day holiday getting ready for my "Labor Day" which is quickly approaching in 14 weeks. Davy worked hard on refinishing the dresser a few weeks ago so I could paint it white this past weekend to match the other furniture for the nursery. The dresser was a gift from Grandma Stephenson and we are so thankful to be able to use it.

Davy also installed a chair rail around the nursery wall so we could paint the bottom half of the room Navy Blue to match the train bedding. I am continually amazed at Davy's carpentry abilities and so thankful to be married to such a gifted man.
